JUMBO's history

JUMBO’s history is based on providing safe and stable products since 1969

1969

JUMBO’s story begins with the first director Birger Adsbøl. He starts as a contractor and plumber in the Centrale Copenhagen area.

1976

AK Lift starts up, and soon AK Lift can offer up to 30 different lifts for rental customers. Warehouse and office are moved to Vanløse.

1978

The first scaffolding frames are on the drawing board. The idea is to make a flexible and light scaffolding.

1983

AK Lift is sold off.

1983

JUMBO’S first standard products are developed, only a few such as frames in 2, 1 and 0.5 meters.

1992

The construction and plumbing business is sold off.

1993

Production, warehouse and office move to Platinvej in Kolding.

1997
Production, warehouse, and office moved to Stålvej in Kolding. Production is greatly expanded and the first welding robot for welding scaffolding frames is purchased.
1998

JUMBO Lift is started and we start producing articulated boomlifts and telescopic lifts.

2003
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S receives the environmental approval from Kolding Municipality. The environmental approval consists partly of conditions for operation and self-control, and partly an environmental technical description and environmental assessment of the company. It is the municipality’s assessment that the company’s operations do not have a significant environmental impact on the surroundings. JUMBO Scaffolding A/S is thus at the forefront of waste minimisation, sorting and recycling.
2006
Karsten Skov Hansen has been appointed new director of JUMBO Scaffolding A/S. He succeeds Birger Adsbøl Knudsen, who will remain in the company as chairman of the board.
2006
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with a former Chinese subcontractor and the JUMBO China factory is built. The factory produces all JUMBO products in steel. JUMBO currently sells these products in 28 countries.
2009
JUMBO Lift is sold off and the expansion is concentrated on scaffolding production
2009
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with the American manufacturer of telescopic ladders, Xtend & Climb. JUMBO currently sells these products in 10 European countries.
2009
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with the American manufacturer of multi-ladder, Little Giant Ladders. JUMBO currently sells these products in 14 European countries.
2010
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with the German manufacturer of lifts, GEDA. JUMBO currently sells these products in 10 European countries.
2010
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S develops its own series of Super Pro stair ladders and stools. The production of these is set up at the JUMBO China factory. JUMBO currently sells these products in 28 countries.
2012

JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer of aluminum boxes. The boxes are produced in JUMBO’s own design. JUMBO currently sells these products under exclusive license throughout Europe.

2015

JUMBO Scaffolding A/S develops its own series of Super Pro single ladders, Dual Extension Ladders, combi ladders and Extension Ladders w/Rope. The production of these is set up at the JUMBO China factory. JUMBO currently sells these products in 28 countries.

2017
JUMBO Scaffolding A/S enters into a collaboration with the German manufacturer of Pro Classic ladders, Rise-Tec. JUMBO currently sells these products in 7 European countries.
